Uno de los grandes puntos de conversación a la izquierda y en los medios de comunicación es que el 90% de las drogas que llegan a la frontera llegan a través de los puntos de entrada. Los demócratas lo repiten todo el tiempo y los anfitriones y analistas de CNN y MSNBC lo reparten mucho cuando hablan de la emergencia nacional de Trump.

Pero es un punto de discusión tonto porque, como hemos señalado aquí recientemente, no hay una manera real de saber cuántas drogas cruzan entre los puertos de entrada porque las áreas abiertas de la frontera son mucho más difíciles de controlar que los puertos de entrada.

Bueno, eso cambia ahora.

If you just go by weight…the numbers that I have from CBP for 2018 reflects the total weight of drugs at ports of entry in 2018 was 432,000 pounds of various drugs.
Between ports of entry for the same time frame, fiscal year 2018, 476,000 pounds.
Eso es increíble.

Of course, this is all political and it’s ultimately meaningless because Trump will veto it, and the opponents of his national emergency don’t have enough votes to overcome it. Still, it will hurt him politically a little bit. Not much really. On the other hand, he really needs to expand his support beyond his base, or we’re gonna see a replay of the midterms… also, #MAGA!!!
